Cheryll Meade, Industry Engagement Partner at IBSA and Antoinette Hewitt, General Manager SSO, were invited to participate as panellists in the AFC Fashion roundtable on 27 October. Stakeholders from the fashion industry came together to discuss the industry skills requirements that need to be addressed to ensure the industry is positioned to be vibrant and well equipped to take advantage of future opportunities.

The roundtable was a first step in garnering industry support and commitment to developing the current workforce and promoting career opportunities and pathways. The next step will involve mapping skills and job roles to the industry’s future needs to identify gaps.

As the Skills Service Organisation for the Textiles, Clothing and Footwear industry, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to provide insights that support the industry in creating a highly skilled workforce and we look forward to working with the AFC further and being involved in the next steps.
