Looking back on our 2018 achievements..

The end of 2018, coincides with my first 100 days as CEO of the IBSA. It is a great time to reflect on the notable achievements of our two main businesses, IBSA Manufacturing and Australian Training Products.

Across the business, we have worked closely with our stakeholders in industry and the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. I’d like to thank everyone we have engaged with during the year for their part in helping contribute to our achievements.

The highlight of the year for IBSA Manufacturing was hosting the Industry 4.0 – Unpacking the skills challenges conference in July. We welcomed our keynote speaker, Dr Mariagrazia Squicciarini from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The conference was attended by over 100 delegates from manufacturing and related sectors, Federal and State government representatives, leading education providers and industry leaders. Throughout 2018, we hosted a number of international delegations including showcasing the Australian VET system to representatives from Chile, Peru and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

IBSA Manufacturing also finalised 6 Cases for Endorsement approved by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee and progressed 11 other training development projects on behalf of its manufacturing Industry Reference Committees. The delivery of updated training packages is vital to support more ‘job ready’ graduates for industry.

This year has seen Australian Training Products develop a new partnership agreement with Restaurant and Catering Australia and continue to create bespoke resources for national and international clients, across the VET, university and commercial sectors. Our content team has released new TAE resources and welcomed a quality assurance arrangement to independently verify the integrity of our resources. The focus has been on the creation of innovative and highly interactive content and the team has been pleased to expand our range of resources to new industries including Agriculture, Horticulture and Individual Support.

We continue to work closely with eCoach to provide Learning Management System (LMS) solutions to our clients. In addition, we have recently enhanced our Moodle LMS and preparatory work has begun to rebuild the ATP website to improve client experience.

I’d like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday period. Personally, I can’t wait for 2019 to start and for us to put into action some of the great initiatives we have been working on.
