The final phase of the Printing and Graphics Arts Training Package Enhancement was undertaken on behalf of Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) by the Electrotechnology, Printing, Information and Communication Industry Training Board in Victoria (EPICITB). This phase has now been completed and the Phase 2 recommendations signed off by the National Project Reference Group (NPRG).

Draft Units, Qualifications and amendments to the Assessment Guidelines are now available for comment on the IBSA Review and Feedback register (Login Required). The qualifications and competencies have been fully loaded onto the IBSA website for feedback. The deadline for feedback is COB 7 December 2009.

The key outcomes of the enhancement were:
- The development of a range of new digital printing units of competency and the revision of existing units of competency.
- The incorporation of environmental sustainability units as a core component of every qualification in ICP05 and the incorporation of competitive manufacturing units as electives.
- Incorporating digital units into ICP30505 Certificate III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Printing) as elective units.
- Modifying ICP20305 Certificate II in Printing and Graphic Arts (Instant Print) and ICP30405 Certificate III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Instant Print) to include the relevant digital units and re-titling these qualifications as (Digital Printing).
- Providing better guidance to assessment through the development advice on industry simulation.
