TED10 Training and Education Training Package development
The Review of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and the development of the new TED10 Training Package have reached their final stages.
The Training and Assessment Training Package (TAA04) redevelopment is coupled with the review of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104). In conjunction with this, newly developed Vocational Graduate programs in Language, Literacy and Numeracy have been included in the new TED10, as well as existing Vocational Graduate programs in International Education and Learning Management.
A unit in Training and Assessment for sustainability was developed in the later stages of the project in response to the policy directives outlined by the Deputy Prime Minister in November 2009. Following consideration by the NPRG at its 8 December 2009 meeting, this unit is to be an elective in the Diploma in Training and Assessment and has additionally been packaged into a Skill Set to underpin professional development in the VET workforce.
The NPRG also approved the inclusion of a new unit of competence, associated with coaching and mentoring in the workplace, as an elective for the Certificate IV. TEDDEL404A Mentor in the workplace has been combined with two other units to form a Workplace Supervisor Skills Set.
The units on sustainability and mentoring were placed with the TED10 and Certificate IV in TAA on the IBSA Review & Feedback Register over four weeks for public viewing.
The Training Package, including the revised Certificate IV, is now undergoing editing and Quality Assurance. The State Training Authorities met on 28 January to consider the revised qualification and the Training Package, and the NPRG will formally sign off the Training Package in mid February.
We anticipate that the Training and Education Training Package (TED10) will be endorsed in early March 2010.
