These resources were developed by Innovation & Business Skills Australia and Digital Economy & Technology Directorate of Department of Further Education, Employment, Science & Technology to provide learners with the ability to access, participate, interpret and securely browse the internet. The digital economy has changed not only the business we do but also the way we do business.
Digital literacy is an essential tool enabling people to operate effectively in the digital economy. This tool allows people to undertake tasks ranging from their professional to private life. The world of the 21st century citizen is more multilayered with online existences and real world life connecting for everyday tasks such as paying bills, online shopping, booking tickets and finding out information for simple tasks. The demand for digital literacy is expanding dramatically with shifting technology thereby bringing about a shift in the skills required in the contemporary digital workplace.
