The Printing and Graphic Arts Training Package (ICP05) details 34 qualifications that are recognised nationally by industry and training regulators. Qualifications range from Certificate II to Advanced Diploma in general and specialist areas including

• Graphic media;
• Printing;
• Converting, binding and finishing;
• Sacks and bags;
• Mail house;
• Cartons and corrugating;
• Ink manufacture; and
• Management/sales.

What do all these terms actually mean? Printing and graphic arts encompasses a wide range of functions from the creation of images and layouts (design) to the preparation of these for printing (pre-press), reproduction by a number of processes (press or printing), and the assembly of final products (post press or finishing). In addition, the industry supports a large number of related industries - the manufacturing of products like ink, for example.

Printing Sector Advisory Committee

Sector Advisory Committees are a pivotal component of IBSA's overarching Stakeholder Engagement strategy, which also includes Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Reference Groups and National Project Reference Groups (NPRG). They provide an ideal forum for contemporary industry input and dialogue on industry matters as a means of informing the Board's decisions in important labour market and training areas.
