Information available on new training websites replacing the NTIS
A project blog has been launched to keep people up to date with the development of training.gov.au, the suite of websites that will replace ntis.gov.au and training.com.au. The new websites are a joint effort between the Australian Government, state and territory governments and industry to ensure people can get the information they need to make informed decisions about training.
Training.gov.au will perform five key functions:
- provide a national register of training providers and products
- provide an authoritative and up-to-date database of training package content
- enable different user groups to get information out in the way that they want through three websites and a data download
- enable state and territory governments to manage regulatory information about training and training providers; and
- provide a tool for industry skills councils to create, edit and manage their training packages.
During the design phase, a number of interactive prototypes were developed and tested with user representatives. These, and a range of technical documents, including data models, have also been developed and are available from the Project’s blog at http://blog.training.gov.au. The blog will be regularly updated with news, information and project progress reports.
