Interim CEO, Paul Byrne, Receives Queen's Birthday Honours
IBSA is proud to congratulate Interim CEO, Paul Byrne OAM, on receiving the Medal of the Order of Australia Honour in the 2008 Queen’s birthday Honours. The OAM is given for ‘service worthy of particular recognition’ and Paul Byrne’s career in vocational education and training certainly deserves particular recognition.
Paul is well known to those in the Australian VET system, whether as former CEO of Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) or in his senior positions as a member of the TAFE Tasmania Board, the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority, the TAFE Development Centre, or his many other VET consultancy, teaching or administrative roles. Paul has been at the forefront of reforms of the Australian vocational education and training system, beginning his career as an electronics engineer, followed by TAFE teaching and administration, then leading roles in the TAFE teachers’ union prior to joining ANTA. Paul’s involvement in the VET system in Australia and on international projects continues to provide important value for current and future directions.
Congratulations Paul!
