DEEWR releases Adult Language Literacy and Numeracy skills discussion paper

A new discussion paper released by Minister Julia Gillard is calling all interested parties to comment on the future direction of the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program.

The Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program (LLNP) helps Australians who have low levels of language, literacy and numeracy skills.

In her media release on Friday 13 June, Minister for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and Social Inclusion, Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard said that "increasing people’s proficiency in these areas provides greater opportunity to fully participate in the workforce and the community".

"The LLNP is an important part in helping those people who, for whatever reason, don’t have adequate skills to take up work or training opportunities" she sadded.
