Development of Skill Sets in Business Continuity
Lesley Shaw and Brydie Brown of RTO Strategic Development Solutions (RSDS) have been engaged by Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) to commence the development, consultation and validation of a Skill Set/s, on Business Continuity for the BSB07 Business Services Training Package.
Appropriate strategic links between emergency management (PUA00) and Business Services (BSB07) have already been identified through national consultation workshops conducted by Government Skills Australia in consultation with the National Industry Training Advisory Group-Emergency Management (formerly known as the Emergency Management Sector Working Group). The project is to be completed by the end of 2008 and RSDS is seeking to involve as many IBSA stakeholders as possible.

Development work to-date
To-date RSDS have developed three units of competency, in consultation with a number of the projects National Project Reference Group (NPRG) members and through desktop research. They are as follows:
- BSBCON401A - Work effectively in a business continuity context
- BSBCON601A - Work within the business continuity framework to develop business continuity strategies
- BSBCON701A - Establish and review the business continuity management framework and strategies
