IBSA's Blueprint for Action Minimize

Through sharing knowledge and leading by example we will work to boost the innovative capacity of the Australian workforce, including the capabilities of organisations, leaders, educators and individual workers. Our vision is for progress on three interrelated goals:

  • Inspiring a culture of innovation
  • Developing leaders
  • Building workforce capability

To succeed we will need the support and collaboration of informed people from across industry and the VET and research sectors. We hope you will join us as we strive to meet the challenges of developing Australia’s workforce for an innovation economy.

Innovation guides IBSA’s activities to keep pace with changes in the economy and reforms to the VET system. IBSA’s role is to foster innovative thinking and practice in recognition that innovation is the main driver of competitiveness and economic and social development.

IBSA’s innovative approach provides for skills formation and progression in an increasingly globalised, dynamic economy. Its Board Directors, the six Sector Advisory Committees and the National Project Reference Groups (SACs and NPRGs) provide specialist sector and industry advice.

IBSA’s innovation training solutions look at key skills that organisations, managers and leaders of the future will need to boost business profitability and build capability. IBSA develops innovation tools to enhance enterprises and individuals and continues to enhance the Training Packages to better incorporate management, leadership and innovation competencies.

With innovation embedded into its strategic thinking, IBSA's achievements include:

The IBSA Workforce Innovation Survey Tool which measures innovation in the workplace by providing a snapshot of staff capability for innovation.

Innovation Resources

A number of outstanding articles and reports in innovation are available and include the Society for Knowledge Economics’ research into the role of Government in creating innovative, productive and fulfilling workplaces and other reports. Leading Australia to More Innovative, Productive and Fulfilling Workplaces – The Role of Government
