SACs & NPRGs Minimize

National Project Reference Groups

National Project Reference Groups (NPRGs) are formed to ensure that appropriate industry expertise is available for specific projects.  NPRGs generally have an industry based Chair and representation from small, medium and large enterprises, relevant industry associations, unions and groups, public and private Registered Training Organisations, State and TerritoryAuthorities and DEEWR in an observer capacity, as well as IBSA staff. The role of the NPRG is broadly to ensure that the project is managed effectively and ethically, sub-contracted consultants are capable of the tasks and meet required deadlines and milestones, the project produces a high quality product that meets industry needs and that there is appropriate consultation with all relevant stakeholders. NPRGs generally meet twice in face to face meetings and periodically by teleconference at key points during the project period.

Sector Advisory Committees (SACs)

Sector Advisory Committees (SACs) have been established by IBSA for each of the six industry sectors, chaired by an industry expert.  Each SAC comprises relevant employer and employee members and meets twice yearly at appropriate points to maximise industry advice for IBSA‘s planning cycle.  SACs play a vital role in providing strategic advice about industry trends, drivers, priorities and Training Package needs.  Through sharing market intelligence and identifying the need for research on current and future training and workforce development needs, IBSA is able to develop appropriate training solutions specific to the industry as well as cross-sectoral skills for the contemporary world of work.
